Student Profiles

In the student profiles posted below, you will find information about some of the extraordinarily talented and dedicated students I have been working with during the past 6 years. We have been fortunate to find resources to support their employment through internal and external grants, work-study, professional development funds, and the office of Community-Engaged Teaching and Research on our campus. Some have worked with me as Teaching Assistants for my service-learning courses, taken up leadership roles in projects to support local non-profits, shared their research with my classes as Visiting Speaker, and others have brought their creative skills to author/storytelling events focused on the experiences of our immigrant neighbors. It is important to have space for their profiles here to acknowledge how vital their leadership, commitment, creativity, and amazing skills have been for each of the projects we have been developing with our community partners––especially the Dominican Development Center. All of these students have also taught me important insights about how to be a better teacher, and a better community ally. I hold special gratitude for the time I have been able to work with each of them.
